Cal Dive secures field decommissioning contract in Gulf of Mexico
Cal Dive International has secured a field abandonment and decommissioning contract from an operator in the Gulf of Mexico.
The contract includes the abandonment of 16 wells, seven pipelines and the removal of eight structures.
Work on this project will begin in the first quarter of this year and is expected to be completed by the end of June 2012.
Cal Dive president and CEO Quinn Hebert said 2012 is expected to be an active year for salvage work in the Gulf of Mexico as regulators encourage producers to remove idle iron.
Cal Dive is a marine contractor that provides an integrated offshore construction solution, including manned diving, pipelay and pipe burial, platform installation and platform salvage services to the offshore oil and natural gas industry.
