Breitling Oil and Gas Corp begins drilling of Texas well

EBR Staff Writer Published 02 February 2012

Breitling Oil and Gas Corporation has commenced drilling of the Breitling-Limelight #1 well in Hardeman County in the US state of Texas.

The well is being drilled to approximately 8,300' and is targeting the Mississippian Chappell.

Strong secondary objectives of the well are the Canyon Reef, Palo Pinto Lime, Strawn Sand, Bend Conglomerate and the Holmes Sand.

According to the company, the Breitling-Limelight prospect was developed based upon advanced 3-D seismic analysis, and the well's target is a well-defined 3D seismic structure with definite 4-way closure.

Breitling Oil and Gas CEO Chris Faulkner said there have been some significant wells drilled nearby the Limelight in the Hardeman basin.

"We feel we have a perfect acreage position directly on top of this anticlinal mound," Faulkner said.
